Innovations4Flooring files action to nullify the Dutch part of Unilin’s base patent EP 1026341
Innovations4Flooring (I4F) today announced that it has initiated the filing of an action to nullify the Dutch part of the base patent EP 1026341 from Unilin Beheer bv. The accelerated proceeding on the merits against Unilin was deposited in the District Court of The Hague in The Netherlands on December 22, 2014.
I4F has presented evidence invalidating several aspects of the Dutch part of the base patent and is seeking a ruling that Unilin’s claims in EP 1026341 are unpatentable as were fully anticipated by various prior art references.
The unique Accelerated Regime in Patent Cases (ARPC) allows for a swift decision in proceedings on the merits in The Netherlands. A first instance decision, dealing with both infringement and validity, can be obtained within a question of months.
I4F will share the main points of this filing as well as its overall strategy at Domotex (hall 9, booth D35/1), taking place January 17-20, 2015 in Hannover, Germany and at Surfaces from January 21-23, 2015.
